Okay, before you jump to any crazy conclusions, no, I do not have a child, but then again it sure feels like it. A week and a half ago I bought a puppy, and I’d say it’s damn near close enough to having a baby. While my social life has seemingly been cut in half, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Buying Cooper, named after Sheldon Cooper from the Big Bang Theory, is without a doubt one of the best decisions I have ever made. My family has had a few dogs in our lifetime, but this is the first time I bought a dog for myself. He is a Chihuahua/Poodle mix. His mom is a full-bred Chihuahua and dad a full-bred Poodle, and I was lucky enough to meet them both. He was born April 22nd, so he’s almost 4 months old!

Everyone’s first reaction when they meet him goes something like, “Oh my goodness, he’s so tiny!”, as he is a mighty 3 lbs. I expect him to get a little bigger but not by much! Surprisingly, he’s doing really well with potty training and only has accidents when he gets too excited or hasn’t been let outside for a while. He loves the outdoors, specifically running around in circles for no apparent reason.

I love this pup too much already, and he has truly brought so much joy into my life. There’s no better feeling than coming home to him so excited to see me. He’s very attached to me and follows me around everywhere, and I absolutely love it! Coop also likes my mom, his “mamaw”, a whole lot, and even though she’s not much of a dog person at all, I know she loves him almost as much as I do. He’s so affectionate and hardly ever yaps which is very rare for Chihuahuas, but hey, I’m not complaining. I’m trying my best to socialize him and take him with me places as much as possible. I can’t wait to make countless memories with “Cooper Pooper”, as I like to call him. Here’s a few more of the plethora of pictures I’ve already taken.
